The International Gaming Awards (IGA) has announced the shortlists in various categories for the upcoming ceremony on 11th of April. The shortlist voting concluded on Dec. 15 2021. This year, for the first time IGA had 681 separate nominations making it hugely competitive for gaming industry operators.
Storm International made the finals of the 2022 International Gaming Awards in the nomination for Casino Operator.
“Despite the difficult economic, political and Covid-19 situation in Eastern Europe, where we have three casinos; one each in Armenia, Georgia and Belarus, Storm International had managed to finally stabilize its business, although it has certainly been a long and difficult journey since all gaming was closed from March of 2020.
Then, during 2021, we successfully opened two casinos and 7 slot halls in our new operation in Ukraine, where we have been less successful in stabilising the situation but where we hope there will still be a future after the awful events that are taking place there now.
Being nominated in a list including several billion dollar companies much older than us is an achievement in itself and we have no illusions about where we stand financially against some of these signature companies so I am very happy and honoured to be on the short list of this prestigious International Gaming Award” – said Michael Boettcher, the founder of Storm International.
The International Gaming Awards (IGA) is the biggest and best charity focused event of the year. IGA rewards significant and outstanding contributions to the gaming industry. It is also designed to reflect innovative technologies and retains its focus on recognising excellence across the gaming industry, as well as focusing on social responsibility and always considering the well being of employees everywhere.
Michael Boettcher last received an award in 2008, for Outstanding Contribution to the Gaming Industry.
